5. To collect, organize and analyze information on cultural phenomena, events, historical and cultural processes. 6. To identify, verify and summarize information on various contexts of cultural practice, to determine the degree of their relevance using different sources, information, communication tools and visual technologies. 8. To interpret cultural sources (material, printed, visual, artistic) using special literature and certain methods, tо reasonably present conclusions regarding their content. 10. To recognize and classify different types of cultural products, to determine their qualitative characteristics based on comprehensive analysis. 14. To conduct a public discussion and maintain a dialogue on Ukrainian culture with professionals and non-specialists.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before studying this course, students should know the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process; basic cultural studies and methods of cultural research; theoretical foundations of ethnography, Ukrainian folk decorative and applied arts, folklore; have an understanding of the features and patterns of development of Ukrainian folk culture. Be able to collect and interpret data on the phenomena of folk culture, have basic skills of scientific analysis of samples of Ukrainian folk decorative and applied arts, elements of the intangible cultural heritage of Ukraine in general.
Course content
The discipline is an elective in the comprehensive training of bachelors in the specialty "Cultural Studies". The discipline is devoted to the study of the history of the development of Ukrainian folk arts and crafts and folk decorative and applied arts; the current state of Ukrainian folk arts and crafts; the revival and preservation of traditional types of Ukrainian folk arts and crafts, schools and centers, etc. The course will familiarize students with the main types of Ukrainian folk arts and crafts: pottery, artistic processing of glass, metal, stone, bone and horn, wood, leather, weaving, carpet weaving, artistic fabrics, folk painting, Easter eggs and carving.

Assessment methods and criteria
1. Audit work: Oral report: 2 points - the student has full knowledge of the educational material, freely and reasonably presents it, deeply and comprehensively reveals the content of the task, using compulsory and additional literature 1 point - does not fully master the material, presents it in a fragmentary and superficial manner, insufficiently reveals the content of the questions posed. Has significant errors in the answer Supplement: 1 point - the supplement is meaningful, thorough, and constructively complements the discussion of the topic
