Learning outcomes
2. To analyze, comment and summarize scientific and analytical texts of culturological format 4. To know and understand theoretical approaches to definition of culture, its manifestations and forms of existence. 5. To collect, organize and analyze information on cultural phenomena, events, historical and cultural processes. 6. To identify, verify and summarize information on various contexts of cultural practice, to determine the degree of their relevance using different sources, information, communication tools and visual technologies. 8. To interpret cultural sources (material, printed, visual, artistic) using special literature and certain methods, tо reasonably present conclusions regarding their content.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before taking this course, students should know the basic concepts of philosophy, ethics, aesthetics and cultural studies. Possess a philosophical categorical apparatus; have an idea of the main features of the dogma and cult of world religions, their historical evolution and current state. 2. To be able to collect and interpret information on cultural phenomena and phenomena, religious processes and events; to apply basic terms and categories of religious studies in the analysis of worldview problems and socio-cultural phenomena and processes; to operate with objective knowledge of history and cultural history. 3. Possess basic skills of scientific research and information management; discussion, critical attitude and forecasting regarding worldview, religious and cultural events and phenomena; use of foreign language professional cultural and religious informative sources.
Course content
The discipline "Religious Studies" is included in the list of compulsory disciplines. The discipline introduces students to the history and development of the world's religions, the causes of religious beliefs. It gives a general theoretical understanding of the nature and specificity of the concepts of the theory of religion, examines the process of the emergence of religious beliefs in society, the factors and conditions that contributed to this, different types and forms of religions, their interconnection and possibilities, the limits of influence on the development of society in the past and at the present stage.

Evaluation of semester work: 1. Oral report, supplementary reports and participation in seminar discussions: 21 / 35 points. 2. Independent work (synopsis of texts): 5 / 10 points 3. Independent work (research of religious traditions): 12 / 20 points 4. Independent work (writing a table-scheme): 10 / 15 points The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of mastering the material from the entire course.
