Learning outcomes
Students' assimilation of basic knowledge from the main sections of the general course of physics, corresponding to the professional direction, and in terms of its information volume, forms the basis for the assimilation of new knowledge, progressive technologies, and various innovations.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
The discipline "General Physics" is based on a series of disciplines of professional and practical training, in particular, "Mechanics", "Molecular Physics", "Electricity and Magnetism", "Mathematical Analysis", "General Algebra".
Course content
Kinematics. Dynamics of material bodies. System of material bodies. Conservation laws. The blow of two bodies. Movement of bodies with variable mass. Non-inertial reference systems. Gravity field. Movement in the field of central forces. Fundamentals of celestial mechanics. Solid motion. Special theory of relativity.
Recommended or required reading and other learning resources/tools
1. Матвєєв О.М. “Механіка і теорія відносності”, Київ, “Вища школа”, 1993. 2. Кучерук І.М., Горбачук І.Т., Луцик П.П. “Загальний курс фізики”, Т.1, Київ, “Техніка”, 1999.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes, laboratory work, individual independent work
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: control is carried out on the following principle. The semester has 3 content modules: content module 1 (MR1) includes topics from the section "Mechanics". After completing the relevant topics, 1 written colloquium and 1 written modular test are held. To determine the level of achievement of learning outcomes, the tasks for modular work test theoretical knowledge and ability to apply them to solve specific physical problems. It is obligatory to be admitted to the exam to write the 1st colloquium and the 1st modular test with a score of at least 5 points for the colloquium and 5 points for the test.
