Learning outcomes
Acquaintance of students with the basics of microwave technology, methods of controlling microwave signals in waveguide paths and antenna systems of various types.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
"Antenna systems and technology of the microwave range" is studied on the basis of the knowledge acquired by students during the study of the disciplines "General physics", "Higher mathematics" and "Special sections of higher mathematics", "Basics of the Circuit Theory", "Electrodynamics and propagation of radio waves". Prerequisites: Know the laws describing the behavior of electric circuits, the main types of analog electronic devices used in radio electronics. To be able to use the apparatus of elementary and higher mathematics. Have basic skills in working with mathematical software packages.
Course content
Method of equivalent circuits. Basics of the theory of long lines. Telegraphic equations. Reflection of waves in transmission lines. Input impedance. Circular diagram of total resistances (Wolpert-Smith diagram). Matrix theory of microwave circuits. Scattering and transmission matrix. Scattering matrix for different types of quadripoles. Resistance transformation. Methods and devices of coordination in the transmission line. Frequency-selective devices of the microwave range. Basics of radiation theory. System parameters of antennas. Vibratory antennas. System of emitters. Influence of the Earth's surface. Antennas of magnetic type. Aperture antennas. Antenna arrays.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment is carried out by completing two colloquiums (up to 30 points each). The maximum number of points that can be obtained during the semester is 60 points. Final evaluation in the form of an exam - up to 40 points.
