Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before starting this course, students should know the main stages, characteristics, problems, theories and personalities of the historical-philosophical process; it is assumed that students are familiar with the basic information provided by the introductory logic course; a sufficient level of command of the English language is necessary, which will enable work with modern scientific primary sources.
2. To be able to collect, analyze, interpret and present information on historical and logical research, to apply defining general philosophical concepts and classifications in the analysis of certain specific logical problems, concepts, theories, to trace the historical continuity of the formation and development of problems of logic, as well as to identify and analyze appropriate cultural and historical circumstances.
3. Possess elementary skills of scientific research and information management; use of foreign language scientific sources.
Course content
The discipline "History of logic in a cultural context" belongs to the list of disciplines of free choice of students and is taught in the 3rd semester of the master's degree. The subject, methods, main problems, personalities and directions of logic research in the historical perspective are determined. The educational discipline introduces students to the historical and cultural circumstances of the development of logic, related, in particular, to the logical teachings of Aristotle (syllogistics), Stoics, medieval scholasticism, modern times, Gottlob Frege.

2.Self-study: (maximum number of points - 20 / minimum number of points - 12).
3. Intermediate control work: (maximum number of points - 20 / minimum number of points - 12).
All types of work for the semester have as a result:
- in the maximum dimension of 80 points
- a minimum of 48 points
Final credit control work in written form - (maximum number of points - 20 / minimum number of points - 12).
The final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is defined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final credit test.
