Prerequisites and co-requisites
The educational discipline "Information security and competitive intelligence in engineering" is a mandatory component of the educational program and is the basis of studying a number of disciplines of the corresponding selective block, which, in turn, is the basis for the mandatory components "Scientific and industrial practice" and "Diploma thesis" master's degree". Prerequisites:
1. Be able to run application software tools and manage them based on a graphical user interface, navigate the file system of any OS, find information on the Internet.
2. Know the basics of algorithmization and be able to implement a multi-file project of a console application.
3. Know the principles of data exchange in telecommunication systems and implementation of distributed systems.
Course content
The discipline "Information security and competitive intelligence in engineering" belongs to the list of mandatory disciplines. It provides the professional development of the student in the field of technical information protection and includes consideration of the principles of organizing the system of information and analytical activities, management and implementation of engineering measures to ensure the security of information and countering competitive intelligence, which can be used in the development, implementation and operation of hardware means of transmission , information processing and protection, when creating automated management systems, etc. The study of this educational component will allow the student to freely orientate himself in the field of competitive intelligence in the organization and management of comprehensive support for the functioning of the engineering and technical security system of enterprises.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes, independent individual work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester evaluation: control is carried out according to the following principle. The academic semester has two content modules.
Since the performance of independent work fully includes checking the learning of the lecture material, control work is not carried out. The overall assessment during the semester is based on the sum of the results of independent work. Mandatory for admission to the exam is the completion of independent work in each of the modules with a total score of at least 18 points (out of 30) for each.
The final assessment will take place in the form of an exam. The form of the exam is a written work (evaluated from 0 to 40 points). A condition for achieving a positive grade for a discipline is to obtain a total of points (for the semester assessment and the exam together) of at least 60 points, while the grade for the final assessment cannot be less than 24 points.
