Learning outcomes
Mastering the main theoretical positions and mathematical methods, which will allow studying the properties of the electromagnetic field and related macroscopic electric and magnetic properties of media, the theory of radio wave propagation at the modern level.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To study the discipline "Electrodynamics and propagation of radio waves" it is necessary to successfully master the following courses: "Higher mathematics", "Special sections of higher mathematics", "General physics".
Course content
Special theory of relativity. Relativistic principle of relativity. Lorentz transformation. Vector analysis. Relativistic mechanics. Geometry of 4-space. General principles of field theory construction. Three-dimensional and differential form of Maxwell's equations. Wave equation and delay potentials. Ljenar-Wichert potentials. Waveguides and resonators.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures - 44 hrs, practical lessons - 16 hrs, independent work - 60 hrs, total - 120 hrs.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: four modular test papers (up to 10 points each), answers in practical classes (up to 10 points). The grade for the semester is limited to 40 points. Final evaluation in the form of an exam - up to 60 points.
