Learning outcomes
PR7. Organize activities on the technology of growing planting material of ornamental grasses and flowering plants in open and closed soils and design garden and park facilities in accordance with modern requirements. PR8. Use innovative approaches to solve specific practical problems in the field of horticulture. PR14. Present the results of scientific work in writing (in the form of a report, scientific publications, etc.) and orally (in the form of reports and defense of the report) using modern technologies, correctly lead the discussion. PR15. Adhere to the norms of academic integrity in the study and conduct of scientific activities in order to ensure confidence in the results of scientific work, know the basic legal categories and features of the use of intellectual property. PR20. Model and design garden and park facilities using mathematical methods and modern information technology

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the basics of fine arts 2. Know the basics of color science and three-dimensional composition 3. Be able to use computer programs SketchUp, AutoCAD, TwiLight 4. Be able to prepare the graphic part of the landscape design documentation. 5. Be able to perform landscape assessment.
Course content
The course is devoted to the theory and practice of landscape design and introduces students to a set of basic design work, such as information collection, analysis, functional zoning, master plan development, project presentation. The course is based on practical work on the project of landscaping the area in front of the western facade of the Red Building of the University. At the beginning of the course the basic standards and norms that regulate the work on the project of improvement of historical territories are considered, attention is paid to the normative base of designing places of modern urban development. In addition to acquiring new knowledge and skills, students deepen the already acquired knowledge and skills in creating project documentation, using AutoCAD, SketchUp and TwiLight in project work, using graphic arts.
