Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know - the classification of lawn grasses, their ecological and biological characteristics. Theoretical bases of introduction of lawn grasses and creation and maintenance of cultural perennial lawns of different function. Methods of arranging lawns, sowing rates, features of their nutrition, protection against pests and diseases. The main weeds on lawns of different types and ways to control them. 2. To be able - to make calculations according to the given formulas. Distinguish types of lawn grasses by different signs, make grass mixtures and determine the seeding rate. Create a calendar schedule for lawn care. Determine the deficiency of nutrients and moisture in the soil. Fight weeds, pests and diseases of lawn grasses. 3. To possess basic skills of carrying out works on creation of lawns in various ways, selection of the range of lawn grasses, the analysis of quality of seeds, selection of agrochemicals for protection of lawn grasslands.
Course content
The discipline "Lawn Science" is a discipline of free choice of students, which includes mastering the theoretical and practical foundations of creation and maintenance of lawns for various purposes, taking into account modern achievements of domestic and world science, formation of practical skills in laying lawns, selection lawn care and repair.

Semester assessment: 1. Oral examination - RN 1.1-1.3, 2.1-2.3. - 20 points / 10 points; 2. Modular control work - RN 1.1-1.3 - 30 points / 15 points; 3. Submission of laboratory works - RN 2.1-2.3 - 30 points / 15 points. 4. Defense of the presentation - RN 3.1. - 20 points / 10 points; Final evaluation in the form of a test
