Learning outcomes
The discipline is aimed at forming: 1) The ability to apply basic knowledge of basic standards on technologies and protocols of multiservice networks; 2) The ability to apply knowledge in the field of technologies and protocols of multiservice networks to solve specialized tasks and practical problems; 3) The ability to apply modern achievements in the field of professional activity in order to build future telecommunication systems, etc. 4) The ability to administer telecommunication systems and networks.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
In order to better assimilate the educational material of the discipline, students should acquire knowledge and skills in the field of mathematics, physics and computer technology, professional courses.
Course content
In the program of the discipline, the main attention is given to the basics of building multiservice networks from the point of view of the OSI model and the TCP/IP protocol stack. Students get acquainted with relevant technologies and protocols, their configuration and administration of network equipment (Cisco). The purpose of the discipline is to form knowledge about the current state of network and Internet technologies, to acquire specialized technical skills necessary for installation, configuration, maintenance, and protection of network devices; study of future technologies and protocols of multiservice networks.

Assessment methods and criteria
The level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of laboratory work, practical tasks, tests and exams. The results of students educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. Final control is conducted in the form of a written exam - 40 points. Namely: semester assessment - 36/60 points:  Performance of practical tasks - 6/10 points.  Performance of laboratory work - 22/36 points.  Passing tests – 8/14 points. A student is not admitted to the exam if he scored less than 36 points during the semester.
