Course content
Modern information technologies are a set of methods and tools used to collect, store, process, and disseminate information in cyberspace. The standard architectural principles of building a personal computer, hardware and software, high mobility of software, and a number of other features determine the relatively easy access of a professional to information on a computer. To protect the information, various software and hardware methods are used, which significantly expand the possibilities of information protection. Understanding these methods requires theoretical knowledge and practical skills in modern operating systems (file systems) and environments, and knowledge of modern technologies for representing and processing information. The discipline "Information technologies in cyberspace" is the theoretical and practical basis of the totality of knowledge and skills that form the profile of a specialist in the field of information technologies and cybersecurity. The specialist will be able to use the acquired knowledge and skills as the basis for solving professional problems of modern information technologies and methods for building and protecting information systems. The knowledge gained during the study of the discipline is further needed for software design and the creation of information security tools in computer systems and networks.

Assessment methods and criteria
The results of the educational activities of students are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The condition for obtaining a positive total score in the discipline is to receive at least 60% of the maximum possible number of points. To be admitted to the exam, the student must score at least 36 points for the current semester work. On the exam, the student can get a maximum of 40 points, but the exam mark cannot be less than 24 points to receive an overall positive mark for the course. In the case when the student scored less than 24 points in the exam, the points received are not added to the semester grade (regardless of the number of points received during the semester), in the examination sheet (in the column "points for the exam") "0" is put, and in the column, The "resulting grade" only transfers the number of points earned during the semester.
