            Course content

The course introduces students to the biochemical reactions and molecular mechanisms of the processes that underlie the functioning of the liver, blood, kidneys, nervous system, muscle, connective tissue, bone, and their most important disorders. Topics such as the principles of liver function tests, diagnostically important blood components, normal and pathological components of urine, molecular mechanisms of action of diuretics, mechanisms of formation of gallstones and kidney stones, the role of abnormal levels of neurotransmitters and disorders of their interactions with receptors in nervous disorders are also covered. , molecular mechanisms of action of neurotropic drugs (neuroleptics, antidepressants, tranquilizers) and non-drug substances.
