Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of scientific-theoretical and practical material of academic disciplines taught to students of educational level "Bachelor" and 1st year of educational level "Master". 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of virology, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, cytology and histology, physiology, zoology, biophysics, etc. 3. Have basic skills in planning and conducting experimental research in a particular field of biology in order to solve a specific scientific and practical problem. 4. To have basic skills of analytical evaluation of research results conducted in the fields of biology and virology to solve specific scientific and practical task.
Course content
The course consists of sections on viral infectious diseases of humans and animals, clinical issues and principles of diagnosis of viral diseases. Particular attention is paid to the establishment of a preliminary diagnosis as the initial stage of diagnosis. Individual viral infections, their pathogenesis and epidemiology are considered in detail. The classification of diseases is based on WHO and OIE recommendations. The course is designed to summarize the student's understanding of the clinical picture and pathogenesis of viral infections in humans and animals, as well as provide students with the ability to plan and conduct experimental work using various methods and techniques for diagnosing viral diseases in humans and animals, statistical processing and interpretation the results of the experiment (both obtained in person and provided by scientific laboratories and / or published in the scientific literature).
