PR6. Analyze biological phenomena and processes at the molecular, cellular, organismal, population-species and biosphere levels in terms of basic general scientific knowledge, as well as using special modern research methods. PR11. To carry out statistical processing, analysis and generalization of the received experimental data with use of software and modern information technologies. PR20. On the basis of in-depth knowledge of natural sciences to form an idea of the laws of individual and historical development of biological systems and different levels of organization, the role of systemic processes in their formation, functioning and plasticity, features of their cooperative interaction. PR29. Be able to use modern specialized methods of molecular and population genetics and genetic analysis.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of courses ,, Genetics ,,, ,, Genetic monitoring ,, 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of mathematics, statistics, ecology and genetics. 3. Ability to independently apply knowledge of genetics, etc. disciplines, perform laboratory and practical work, work with scientific literature.
Course content
The course is devoted to basic information about the population as a genetic-evolutionary unit, shows its place in the system of species and biocenosis. Regularities of inheritance at the population level are revealed. Genetic variability and polymorphism of populations are characterized, sources of their formation are revealed. Particular attention is paid to genetic processes in the emergence of new species.
