Learning outcomes
1.1. Know modern theoretical and methodological approaches to the analysis of consumption as a social phenomenon. 1.2. Know the basic theoretical paradigms that reveal the basic concepts and categories of sociology of consumption. 2.1. Be able to analyze the social context of consumption in its material and symbolic-representative elements within the basic theoretical paradigms of sociology. 2.2. Be able to adapt the basic parameters of the study of consumption as a component of the system of social interaction to the conditions of everyday life of modern society. 3.1. Present the results of independent research, demonstrate the skills of reasoned presentation of own opinion, competent and tolerant discussion with opponents. 4.1. Carry out independent analytical, research and exploration activities. 4.2. Be able to adapt the basic parameters of the study of consumption as a component of the system of social interaction to the conditions of everyday life of modern society.

1. Знання студентами основ філософії, психології, соціології, економіки та маркетингу. 2. Володіння навичками читання і критичного аналізу соціальної інформації й текстів, опублікованих українською, англійською та російською мовами. 3. Володіння навичками аналітичних та пошукових методів соціологічної емпірики.

1. Consumption as a branch of sociological knowledge. Topic 1. Consumption as an object of sociological analysis. Topic 2. Consumption in the socio-historical context. Topic 3. Theoretical approaches to the analysis of consumption as a social phenomenon. Topic 4. Social institutions as regulators of consumption. Topic 5. Consumption as a social position. 2. Consumption as a social practice of modern society. Topic 6. Consumption as a way of life. Spheres of consumption in everyday life. Topic 7. Consumer behavior: features and factors of formation. Topic 8. Shopping space as a social field. Topic 9. Modern consumption: characteristics and transformations in the context of global change.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester evaluation: Group and individual work in seminars: LR 1.1, LR 1.2, LR 2.1, LR 2.2 - max 45 / min 27 points. Thematic report: LR 2.1, LR 3.1, LR 4.1, LR 4.2 - max 15 / min 9 points. Research task: LR 3.1, LR 4.1, LR 4.2 - max 15 / min 9 points. Presentation of research task: LR 3.1 - max 5 / min 3 points. Modular tests: LR 1.1, LR 1.2, LR 2.1, LR 2.2 - max 20 / min 12 points (2 tests of max 10 / min 6 points each). Final evaluation: course credit.
