Learning outcomes
1.1. Know the scientific foundations, models, structure and functions, as well as the categorical apparatus of the theory of social security and protection.
2.1. Be able to analyze the activities and behavior of social security and protection actors in the context of social transformation.
3.1. Be able to carry out and present an individual research task on the behavior and activities of social protection entities.
4.1. Be able to independently carry out analytical, research and search activity.

1. Know the basic principles of general sociology, sociology of organizations and management.
2. Have basic skills in programming sociological research and the use of empirical methods of sociological analysis.
3. Have the skills to apply a sociological approach to the analysis of social mechanisms of social security and protection in modern society.
Course content
"Introduction to the theory of social security"
Topic 1. Conceptual principles of social security and protection. Topic 2. Social security and protection as a component of social policy.
Topic 3. Structure and functions of social security and protection.
Topic 4. Legal basis for the implementation of social security and protection.
Topic 5. Organizational systems of social security and protection in modern society.
Topic 6. Technologies and criteria for the effectiveness of social security and protection.

Assessment methods and criteria
1) active work of the student during the practical classes (LR1.1; LR2.1; LR2.2) –20/12 points, ie 15 classes with 2 maximum points or 1.2 minimum points for each;
2) performance of control work (LR1.1; LR2.1; LR4.1) - 10/6 points, 10 maximum points or 6 minimum points for work;
3) performance and presentation of the results of the individual research task (LR 3.1; LR 4.1) - 20/12 points, ie a maximum of 15 points (and a minimum of 9 points) for the result of the task and a maximum of 5 points (and a minimum of 3 points) for the presentation of the obtained results; the total minimum score for the task - 12 points. B) final assessment: credit - a maximum of 20 points (20 maximum points or 12 minimum points).
