            Successful mastering of the courses "Introduction to Literary Studies" and "History of Foreign Literature"; Basic skills of literary analysis; Ability to operate with basic categories and concepts of literary theory.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            The discipline aims to introduce students with native and foreign literary theories and develop skills of system analysis of literary text. Students' attention is focused on foreign literature. The structure of the course provides consideration of main categories of literary criticism (plot, motif, theme, mode, image) and mastering the principles of system analysis of literary text.
        
    
            Recommended or required reading and other learning resources/tools
        
        
            Planned learning activities and teaching methods
        
        
            Basic teaching methods: explanatory-illustrative, problem-based, interactive, project, information-computer. Forms of training organization: classroom (lectures, seminars), extracurricular (consultations, individual tasks and classes, independent work). Written test: final test for 2 academic hours. Current control - presentations, speeches at seminars, tests.
        
    
            Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            The final grade for the course is formed as the sum of the points of the current and final control. Forms of current control include 1) answers to seminars (max 35 / min 21 points), 2) preparation of an individual presentation (max 10 / min 6 points) and 3) writing a test (max 15 / min 10 points). In total, the forms of final control are max 60 / min 36 points. Form of final control - final test, score for credit - max 40 / min 21 points. To be admitted to the test you must score at least 36 points. To receive a positive grade in the discipline, the grade for the test must be at least 24 points.
