1. Before studying this course, students must know the basics
research methods.
2. Be able to collect and interpret information for construction
arguments, build reasoning, draw rational conclusions from the available
information.
3. Have basic skills to work with a professional
literature, information management, critical attitude to events and phenomena.
Course content
The discipline acquaints students with the basics of logic
knowledge and combines the teaching of traditional (Aristotelian) and modern
(symbolic) logic. The subject, methods, main problems and are defined
directions of logical research. Important concepts are studied: reasoning,
correctness / incorrectness, logical form, logical following,
deduction / induction, logical law, logical equivalence, logical compatibility,
formalization. Finding out the essence of these concepts and the relationship between them
is part of the general competence of a specialist in any field of knowledge.
A number of criteria for the correctness of reasoning are introduced. It is determined
structural structure and types of considerations. The essence and possibilities of different are explained
ways to establish logical forms of reasoning, reveals the essence of a number
logical techniques of reasoning analysis.
