Learning outcomes
3. To create logically and structurally organized texts on cultural studies, according to the specialization. 4. To know and understand theoretical approaches to definition of culture, its manifestations and forms of existence. 5. To collect, organize and analyze information on cultural phenomena, events, historical and cultural processes. 6. To identify, verify and summarize information on various contexts of cultural practice, to determine the degree of their relevance using different sources, information, communication tools and visual technologies. 7. To understand the factors of cultural dynamics, the principles of periodization of cultural processes, their specific features and characteristics. 8. To interpret cultural sources (material, printed, visual, artistic) using special literature and certain methods, tо reasonably present conclusions regarding their content.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before studying this course, students must know the basic stages and characteristics of the historical process; basic social theories and methods of historical research, including disciplinary approaches to history, history of Ukraine, geography, literature; basic concepts of culture; 2. Students must be able to collect and interpret information on cultural phenomena and manifestations, cultural processes and events; apply the basic terms, categories and classifications of historical sciences in the analysis of socio-cultural phenomena and processes; identify the basic trends of historical processes, as well as identify the status and significance of certain cultural phenomena in historical and social contexts; 3. Students must have basic skills in research and information management; critical attitude and predicting regard to political, economic, cultural and artistic events and phenomena; use of foreign language professional for information sources.
Course content
The educational discipline introduces students to the problems of emergence and definition of culture, approaches to the classification of cultural evolution, patterns of cultural and historical dynamics. Through generalization and the systematization of cultural interpretation models reveals historical originality each thematic horizon of a person's lifeworld, as well as its meaning for further development. The cultural potential of historical forms is analyzed human activity, their conditioning by the cultural context, is justified by them significance for the formation of the text of culture at this historical stage are revealed patterns of differentiation, autonomization, institutionalization and integration of cultural forms

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment of semester work in the 1st semester: 1. Oral report: 40 / 60 points 2. Self-study: 8 / 20 points The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of assimilation material from the entire educational course. Final control work in written or test form: 12 / 20 points Assessment of semester work in the 2nd semester: Oral presentation, additions and participation in discussions at seminars: 40 / 60 points Self-study: 10 / 20 points Control work: 10 / 20 points Overall semester grade consist of points obtained for classroom work, independent work, control work, taking into account the coefficient of 0.6. All types of work in semesters have as a result: - in the maximum dimension 100 points x 0.6 = 60 points - in the minimum dimension 60 points x 0.6 = 36 points Final assessment in the form of an exam in the second semester: Written exam - 24 / 40 points Examination evaluation takes place in written form.
