Learning outcomes
Achievement of such competencies, skills and abilities as application of legal content of institutes of administrative law, civil, commercial and environmental law which regulate relations in the field of energy; ability to analyse problems of legal support of energy and form and substantiate relevant legal positions; critical and systematic analysis of legal phenomena in the field of energy and application of acquired knowledge; ability to advise on legal issues in the field of energy; systematic, logical and effective interpretation of documents and understanding the specifics of their legal nature and meaning

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the provisions of the theory of law, in particular the concept, composition and types of legal norms, the concept, composition and types of legal relations. Be able to master and consolidate knowledge gained during the lectures by means of processing sources of special literature on relevant topics of the course; use the knowledge acquired from related disciplines; use legal information and analytical resources of the Internet; perform self-study tasks
Course content
The course provides students with the concepts and components of energy, the concept of a unified energy system, gas transmission system of Ukraine; legal bases of regulation of relations in the field of energy; types and legal status of business entities and entities with organizational and economic authority in the field of energy, legal regulation of their operations; legal support of the organization and functioning of electricity and natural gas markets; types, structure and requirements for the operations of these markets; specifics of the legal status of participants of the electricity and natural gas markets; legal support in the field of heat supply, alternative sources, including renewable energy resources; types and content of agreements in the field of energy, specific features of their formation and performance; legal bases and basic means of state regulation and supervision (control) in the field of energy, licensing in this field

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Types of classes include lectures and seminars, as well as independent work of students. The following teaching methods are used: verbal (explanations, educational discussions, etc.), visual (illustrations and demonstrations, PowerPoint presentations), practical (reports on individual tasks, case study, questioning). Interactive technologies: cooperative learning, group learning, situational modelling, technologies of discussion questions analysis
Assessment methods and criteria
Types of formative assessment are chosen by the teacher who conducts practical lessons in compliance with the course syllabus. Assessment of all types of task performance is carried out during the seminars in accordance with the established schedule. Assessment takes into account the form of students’ contribution (discussion, speech, participation in the discussion on topical issues, comments), the quality and completeness of the answer, for which certain points are awarded. Express questioning, tests, colloquia are conducted. Independent work is assessed by means of written reports on individual creative tasks and their presentation, as well as solving problems and practical tasks
