Learning outcomes
Know how different types of electoral system affect subjective suffrage; be able to compare the features of the exercise of subjective suffrage in the application of majority, proportional and mixed electoral system; to reveal the essence and content of the phenomenon of "abuse of subjective suffrage" in the political and legal realities of today. Critically comprehend possible forms of realization of active and passive suffrage of citizens of Ukraine. Apply general and special knowledge in the practical field. Identify, pose and solve problems of constitutional and legal regulation and implementation of subjective suffrage. Ability to evaluate the latest legal constitutional tools.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know and understand the constitutional and legal requirements for elections as the main form of direct democracy, constitutional principles of organization and conduct of elections, the main types of electoral systems used in national and local elections in Ukraine. Know the essence and meaning of political rights of citizens; have the skills of systematic analysis and application of legal norms to specific life situations, as well as consistent argumentation and defense of a particular legal position.
Course content
The study of the discipline reveals the following issues on the principle of architecture: constitutional and legal regulation of the realization of the right of a citizen of Ukraine to be elected and to be chosen as a People's Deputy of Ukraine; Legislation on subjective rights to be elected and to be chosen as the President of Ukraine; features of the legislation on the exercise of subjective rights to be elected and to be chosen as a deputy of the local council, village, town, mayor and mayor. The program of the discipline involves in-depth study of current legislation of Ukraine and foreign countries in the field of standardization of subjective electoral rights; international standards for the exercise of subjective electoral rights: their concept and content. The course of the discipline involves focusing on the constitutional and legal regulation of the right of a citizen to be elected and elected in foreign countries, international standards for the exercise of this right.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures and seminary activities - with the introduction of interactive teaching methods (brainstorming, case studies, discussions and others). Solving situational problems is planned; writing essays by students; performing individual tasks and module tests.
Assessment methods and criteria
Ongoing and final performance evaluation is applied. Assessment methods - the type of work / activity of the applicant, which will assess the level of achievement of learning outcomes (testing, creative tasks, individual work, independent work, etc. and the minimum threshold after which a positive assessment is credited) - and evaluation criteria are communicated to applicants before beginning of the study of the discipline by a teacher who conducts seminars. At the ongoing and final performance evaluation are subject to assessment: the level of "Knowledge", "Understanding", "Application", "Analysis" / "Synthesis" / "Evaluation", demonstrated by the applicant. The maximum total number of points the applicant can score in the ongoing performance evaluation - 40, in the exam - 60. The final score for the discipline is set on a 100-point scale (ECTS) and a national scale.
