Tasks of the discipline are aimed at forming the following competencies: to present their research on сurrent issues of civil law and disposal of intellectual property rights, using primary sources and techniques of legal interpretation of complex issues arising from this study, to justify conclusions; to develop and teach general disciplines in educational institutions, to apply modern educational technologies and teaching methods.

Full-time form

Prerequisites for mastering the discipline: 1. Know the main scientific problems in the field of civil law, as well as the concept and system of agreements on the disposal of intellectual property rights. 2. Be able to research and draw conclusions about the content of legal concepts, doctrines of interpretation of the essence of different categories of civil law and the category of disposal of property rights to the results of creative activity. 3. Have basic skills in drafting legal documents, taking into account the peculiarities of the practical situation and with the help of legal methods to resolve disputes arising in the field of disposal of intellectual property rights.

The discipline "Current issues of civil law and disposal of intellectual property rights" is part of professional training of specialists at Master in Law program, educational course "Intellectual Property" at the Education and Research Law School of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The main components of the discipline are aimed at providing students with knowledge of the main problems of civil law and the principles of legal regulation of relations in the field of using the results of intellectual creativity; grounds for acquiring legal protection by objects of intellectual property rights; formation of their skills to correctly interpret the content of national and international law on the acquisition, disposal and protection of intellectual property rights.

The study of the discipline involves lectures and practical classes; express survey/testing/essay (abstract) on the proposed topic; modular test work; student self-study in preparation for seminars; credit (exam).

Types of ongoing performance evaluation can be: express survey, report, research, testing (from the set of judgments to choose the right ones), case solving (tasks), module-on control work (final test work). During the ongoing performance evaluation at seminars, the following are assessed: the level of knowledge demonstrated by the student in the answer, activeness in discussing the issues of the seminar, regular work in the classroom, the results of self-study. The discipline is taught in one term. 10 days before the beginning of the session, the teacher who conducts the seminars no longer accepts missing assignments. For students who have not scored the minimum threshold level of assessment, a final test is conducted.
