Learning outcomes
PLO 6. Use professional arguments to transmit information, ideas, problems and ways of their solving to professionals and non-professionals in the field of economic activity. PLO 9. Realize the main features of the modern world and national economy, institutional structure, directions of social, economic and foreign economic policy of the state. PLO 13. Identify sources and understand the methodology of determination and methods for obtaining socio-economic data, collect and analyze the necessary information, calculate economic and social indicators. PLO 21. Ability to think abstractly, apply analysis and synthesis to identify the key characteristics of economic systems at various levels, as well as the peculiarities of their subjects' behavior. PLO 22. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in new situations, in working with new objects and in uncertain conditions.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of courses: “Intellectual property”, “Microeconomics”, “Economics of intellectual property”, “Enterprise economics”. Knowledge of the principles of economic theory; main concepts and categories of economics; nature and features of intellectual property; principles of the organisation of market relations and economic activities; forming and using of intellectual activity results in entrepreneurial activity.
Course content
Course is devoted to research of nature, principles and features of capital raising during intellectual property commercialization at different stages of venture company lifecycle. Forms of intellectual property commercialization and methods of risk-management of intellectual assets, peculiarities of accounting and taxation of economic transactions with intellectual property rights are investigated. The course provides studying in practice of different forms of capital raising, which effectively accelerate transformation of intellectual property objects into intellectual capital of innovative small and medium-sized enterprises. The latest financial and economic mechanisms of intellectual property commercialization are investigated including patent swap, sale and license-back, securitization of intellectual assets etc.
