Course content
The discipline "Cytogenetic bases of embryonic development" is a component of the cycle of professional training of specialists of the educational level "Bachelor" in the educational program "Biology" (specialization "Reproductive Biology"). The discipline covers the principles of genetic diagnosis of diseases of the embryo, fetus. The study of the discipline provides the theoretical foundations of cytogenetics and molecular genetic analysis of various types of biological samples: blastomeres, trophoblasts, chorionic villi, placental cells, blood and more. Invasive and non-invasive methods of material collection and research (karyotyping, PCR, FISH-method, NGS) are demonstrated, which allow to detect genetic and chromosomal abnormalities.
