Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the morpho-biological and ecological features of aquatic groups of animals, physico-chemical properties of water as an animal habitat. 2. Be able to independently apply knowledge of zoology, ecology, botany, biology of individual development, etc. disciplines for solving specific scientific and practical problems; work with scientific and scientific-methodical literature. 3. Possession of basic skills of systems analysis.
Course content
The discipline "Hydrobiology" is part of the cycle of training specialists at the educational level "Bachelor" in the educational program "Biology" (specialization "Zoology"). It covers the specifics of habitat of representatives of different taxonomic and ecological groups of living organisms in the aquatic environment, their ability to adapt to changing environmental factors and the formation of associations and groups above the organism level, patterns of aquatic ecosystems in different types of water and the role of aquatic organisms in the formation of bioproductivity and water quality. The discipline is designed to generalize the specifics of habitat and adaptation of living organisms to aquatic habitats and to form an understanding of the complex interactions between aquatic organisms and their groups within the ecosystems of different bodies of water.
