PRO4. Understand the basic terms, concepts, principles, theories and laws in the field of biological sciences and on the boundaries of subject areas. PRO5. Use knowledge and demonstrate compliance with the provisions of biological ethics, biological safety and biological protection. PRO7. Demonstrate knowledge of the structural organization of biological systems at the molecular level of the organization. PRO8. Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental biological processes, structure and functions of living organisms PR15. Apply in professional activities methods for determining the structural and functional characteristics of biological systems at different levels of the organization. PR16. Choose methods, algorithms for planning and conducting field, laboratory, clinical and laboratory research, including mathematical methods and software for research, processing and presentation of results. PR17. Through self-study to learn new knowledge and modern methods.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the courses "General Cytology", "Molecular Biology", "Biochemistry", "Biotechnology". 2. Be able to independently apply knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology and other disciplines, perform laboratory and practical work, work with scientific and methodological literature. 3. Possess elementary | skills in working with materials and equipment used in biological and biotechnological laboratories.
Course content
The discipline "Fundamentals of cell culture" is a basic discipline that covers issues of cell biology, the mechanisms of functioning of a single cell in a population of genetically identical cells, studies the patterns of regulation of cell division, differentiation and death. The course considers the peculiarities of nutrition and conditions for culturing eukaryotic cells and tissues in vitro. The acquired knowledge can be used in molecular biological, pharmacological, medical research with the involvement of modern principles of cell technology.
