1. To have the skills of critical thinking, to present their own thoughts in a clear way, to make their arguments. 2. To analyze, comment and summarize scientific and analytical texts of culturological format. 5. To collect, organize and analyze information on cultural phenomena, events, historical and cultural processes.6. To identify, verify and summarize information on various contexts of cultural practice, to determine the degree of their relevance using different sources, information, communication tools and visual technologies. 7. To understand the factors of cultural dynamics, the principles of periodization of cultural processes, their specific features and characteristics. 16. To define, formulate and argue their own civic and professional position on topical social issues.

Full-time form

1. Before studying this course, students must know the basic content of the courses "History of Foreign and Ukrainian Culture", "Philosophy", "History of Philosophy", "Religious Studies” 2. Students must be able to collect and interpret information on moral conflicts and manifestations of ethically significant phenomena, events and cultural processes; apply basic terms, categories and ethical concepts in the analysis of socio-cultural processes; find adequate answers to modern challenges of coexistence in a complex social life, take into account the ethical principles of modern socio-political and cultural processes 3. Students must have basic skills of expression and processing of theoretical and philosophical information; critical attitude and analysis to the phenomena of socio-cultural practice; use of foreign language professional information sources.

Part 1. The subject and objectives of ethics as a science. Formation of ethical tradition in the context of early forms of moral culture (traditional societies). The emergence of ethics in the context of ancient philosophical tradition. Historical stages of morality as a subject of ethics. Typology of ethical doctrines. Changing the ethical paradigm in Christian culture. Classical ethics as a practical philosophy. Anti-normative turn and basic concepts of non-classical ethics. Part 2. The essence, structure and basic functions of morality. The specifics of morality in the system of social regulation. Basic concepts of moral consciousness. Moral aspects of human. Applied ethics in solving moral problems of modern activity. Personal and public morality. The problem of freedom and responsibility. Moral culture as a request of socio-cultural practice of today

Lectures, seminars, self-study

1. Oral report, additions and participation in discussions at seminars: 12/24 points 2. Synopsis of texts: 6/6 points 3. I Self- work (writing an essay based on works of art, films or practice on moral conflicts): 4/5 points 4. Self- work (review of articles on scientific problems of ethics): 4/5 points 5. Test work: 12/20 points Final assessment is carried out in the exam: Final Written Exam : 24/40 points. Examination assessment is done in writing. The examination papers consist 2 questions, each of which is rated on a scale of 20 points. So, total score amounts to 40 points in the final exam. The recommended minimum of admission to the exam is 36 points. In that way, the final grade in the course (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) consists of the sum of points during the study period (minimum 36, maximum 60 points) and final exam (minimum 24, maximum 40 points).
