Learning outcomes
PRO3. Use theories and laws of mathematics, physics, chemistry and other sciences to solve problems of modern biology. PRO4. Understand the basic terms, concepts, principles, theories and laws in the field of biological sciences and on the boundaries of subject areas. PRO8. Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental biological processes, structure and functions of living organisms. PR15. Apply in professional activities methods for determining the structural and functional characteristics of biological systems at different levels of the organization. PR16. Choose methods, algorithms for planning and conducting field, laboratory, clinical and laboratory research, including mathematical methods and software for research, processing and presentation of results. PR17. Through self-study to master new knowledge and modern methods of experimental research to solve problems of biology.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of courses "Biochemistry", "Molecular Biology", "Biotechnology". 2. Be able to work with information databases, independently develop scientific and methodological literature. 3. Have basic skills in working with materials and equipment used in the biological laboratory, including spectrophotometer, centrifuges, scales, pH meter, thermostats and incubators
Course content
The discipline "Methodology of purification of protein molecules" gives students a theoretical understanding of the full range of modern laboratory methods of purification of target proteins. Attention is also paid to the development of a comprehensive strategy for purification of target proteins, optimization of the entire technological process in order to obtain the maximum yield of the target protein of high purity in the minimum number of stages.
