1. Know - the features of the structure and life processes of the main groups of animals associated with the soil, their main adaptations to living in the soil environment, the features of the soil as a habitat for organisms; basic methods of obtaining factual data. 2. Be able to - determine the taxonomic affiliation of animals associated with the soil environment, the features of their adaptation to the habitat; choose methods for conducting specific research in the field of soil zoology; to plan ecological and morphological researches of animals - inhabitants of soils; work with scientific and scientific-methodical literature. 3. Possess basic skills of ecological and morphological research of groups of soil animals, methods of statistical data processing
Course content
The discipline "Soil Zoology" is a discipline of free choice of students. The relevance of studying this discipline is determined by the need and importance of student understanding of the functional role of certain systematic groups of animals and their groups in soil formation processes, maintaining and improving soil fertility, soil self-cleaning processes. This allows the use of different groups of animals in methods of biological indication of soil condition. The theoretical core of the discipline "Soil Zoology" consists of such sciences as anatomy, morphology, animal physiology, general zoology, ecology. However, it is closely related to such disciplines as evolutionary theory, animal taxonomy, biodiversity, soil science
