Describe and analyze the principles of structural and functional organization, mechanisms of regulation and adaptation of organisms to the influence of various factors. PR19. Solve scientific-theoretical, research and applied problems of biology by appropriate methods. PR25. Be able to use existing, develop and implement new research methods and technologies to solve a specific scientific-theoretical and / or applied problem in zoology. PR26. Be able to form a system of analysis and interpretation of new results on the organization and functioning of the animal organism on the body and population levels based on in-depth knowledge of the disciplines of vocational training.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know - the world's diversity of major systematic groups of animals; the functional role of these animals and major groups of plants in ecosystems; main features of the structure of ecosystems of natural areas of the world; types and features of the structure of animal habitats; basics of zoogeographical and biogeographical division of the Earth's land and the world's oceans. 2. Be able to - determine the systematic affiliation of the main groups of animals; choose zoogeographical methods for the implementation of specific faunal research and analysis of their results; to conduct comprehensive studies of the distribution of animals in areas and their relationships with certain ecosystems, in particular in protected areas. 3. To have basic skills of zoogeographical research of animals of land, fresh and sea waters, application of methods of statistical data processing in this direction
Course content
The discipline "Zoogeography with the basics of biogeography" is an elective discipline. The relevance of the study of this discipline is determined by the need and importance of students' understanding of the ways of formations and transformations of fauna in different parts of the Earth, the laws of interaction of groups of animals and plants with the environment. Basic ideas of this discipline provide an opportunity to understand the mechanisms of faunogenesis, the principles of formation of modern animal diversity, its transformation over geological time. The theoretical core of the discipline "Zoogeography with the basics of biogeography" consists of such sciences as anatomy, morphology, zoology, taxonomy, geography and ecology. However, it is closely related to such disciplines as evolutionary theory, biodiversity, nature conservation
