PR03. Carry out coordinated work for the result in the team, taking into account public, state and industrial interests. PR05. Analyze and evaluate the impact of biology on the development of society. PR09. Plan research, choose effective research methods and their material support. PR11. To carry out statistical processing, analysis and generalization of the received experimental data with use of software and modern information technologies. PR13. Adhere to the basic rules of biological ethics, biosafety, biosecurity, assess the risks of the latest biological, biotechnological and biomedical methods and technologies, identify potentially dangerous organisms or production processes that may pose a threat of emergencies. PR14. Adhere to the norms of academic integrity in the study and conduct of scientific activities, know the basic legal norms for the protection of intellectual property.

1. Successful mastering of the disciplines "Virology", "Principles of safety in virology" laboratories "," Virus identification "," Virus genetics "," Human and animal viruses ". 2. Be able to independently apply knowledge of general virology, etc. academic disciplines for solution of specific scientific and practical problems, work with scientific and scientific-methodical literature. 3. Have basic skills in defining the concepts of biorisk, biosecurity, biosafety, biorisk management system. Use in professional activities conceptual approaches to biosafety.
Course content
The discipline "Viruses and Biosafety" is a component of the program of training specialists of educational level "Master" in the training program "Virology". The teaching of this discipline is aimed at mastering the basic issues of biosafety in the use of viruses in bioengineering technologies, covers issues of vaccines, biological products. It is important to form in future specialists an understanding of the principles of forecasting biorisks and biothreats when working with virological objects, safety rules in virological laboratories, modern principles of biological safety in laboratory conditions, national security of Ukraine, the Convention on Prohibition of Biological Weapons in Nonproliferation weapons of mass destruction.

(block of topics of Section 2,3) - 20 points / 10 points. 3. Presentations / reports, oral answers / additions: PH 1.1-1.3 and PH 3.1, PH 4.1 - 20 points / 10 points. 4. Tasks, tests, evaluation of practical tasks: RN 2.1-2.3; RN 3.1, - 40 points / 20 points. Final assessment: in the form of a credit.
