Learning outcomes
Tasks of studying the discipline are aimed at forming the following competencies: to present individual research on industrial property rights issues, using original sources and techniques of legal interpretation of complex problems arising from the study, justify the conclusions; to generate new ideas and use modern technologies in providing legal services; analyze the interaction of international law and international legal systems with the legal system of Ukraine on the basis of understanding of the main modern legal doctrines, values and principles of the functioning of Industrial Property Law; conduct a comparative legal analysis of individual legal institutions of various legal systems, taking into account the relationship of the legal system of Ukraine with the legal systems of the Council of Europe and the European Union.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prerequisites for mastering the discipline: 1. Know the main aspects of the formation and development of legal institutions of Intellectual property rights; general principles of legal support for the protection of the results of scientific and technical creative activity, acts of legislation governing the relations of participants in the field of protection of industrial property rights. 2. Be able to assess and determine the role and objectives of protection of industrial property objects. 3. To have basic skills in preparing draft legal documents taking into account the peculiarities of the practical situation and with the help of legal methods to resolve disputes arising in the field of protection of industrial property rights.
Course content
The discipline "Current issues of Industrial Property Law" is part of professional training of specialists at Master in Law program, educational course "Law" at the Education and Research Law School of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The main components of the discipline are aimed at providing students with knowledge of the principles of legal regulation of relations in the use of the scientific and technical creative activity results; mechanism of industrial property rights; grounds for acquiring legal protection by objects of industrial property rights; formation of students' skills to correctly interpret the norms of national and international law on the qualification and classification of objects of industrial property law; acquisition, disposal and protection of industrial property rights.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The study of the discipline includes lectures, seminars; polls (express survey)/testing/essay (reference paper) on the proposed topic; module tests; self-study, individual assignments; credit (exam).
Assessment methods and criteria
Types of ongoing performance evaluation include: express survey, report, scientific paper, testing (multiple choice tests), case solving (tasks), module test (final test). Things to be assessed in the process of ongoing intermediate performance evaluation are: the level of knowledge demonstrated by the student during seminars, the level of activity in discussing the issues of the seminar, systematic work in the classroom, the results of independent work. The discipline is taught for one term. 10 days before the beginning of the session, the teacher conducting the seminars no longer accepts missing assignments. For students who have not achieved the minimum level of assessment, a final test is conducted.
