The discipline reveals the theoretical and practical aspects of protection and protection of patent rights, reveals the main provisions of the patent legislation of Ukraine, the EU, the features of patenting under the PCT system. Features of patenting of objects in the field of biotechnology, in the industrial spheres connected with biotechnologies - agriculture, medical, chemical and pharmaceutical industries are considered. The stages of the patent procedure are studied and characterized. The rights arising from the patent, forms and methods of their protection are analyzed.
