Methodological aspects of sustainability are taught of development in the geography of recreation and tourism, its current state, development trends and development prospects. Ways and directions of greening of tourist activity are analyzed. Under consideration environmental certification of territories and objects of tourist activity. Defined peculiarities of certain types of tourism, which are considered to be the main components of sustainable development tourism industry. Strategies for the development of tourism in Ukraine and abroad are evaluated countries The main areas of sustainable development are considered and characterized territorial tourist and recreation systems at the national, regional and local levels.
