Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the disciplines "Virology", "Principles of safety in the virology laboratory", "Virus identification", "Virus genetics", "Fundamentals of viral carcinogenesis", "Antiviral immunity", "Human and animal viruses". 2. Be able to independently apply knowledge of general virology and other disciplines to solve specific scientific and practical problems, work with scientific and scientific-methodological literature. 3. Have basic skills in developing recommendations for the prevention and control of this disease, the formation of a forecast of the spread of the disease under study.
Course content
The discipline "Mechanisms of virus persistence" is a free choice of the student (choice of blocks) in "Virology" covers the system of knowledge and skills in the formation and development of persistent infection, the role of the immune system in this process and mechanisms to avoid viruses. An important place is given to the study of molecular biological properties of HIV and its impact on the pathogenesis of infection, the main measures of infection prevention and approaches to treatment and control of HIV, the mechanisms of changes in the infected organism and the ineffective immune response. The course is designed to summarize the student's perception of the impact of persistent infections on the human body to provide insights into current trends and directions of basic scientific and applied research in the field of public health for future professional orientation.
