Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the courses "Bioorganic Chemistry", "Molecular Biology", "Biochemistry", "Biotechnology". 2. Be able to independently apply knowledge of bioorganic chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, etc. disciplines, perform laboratory and practical work, work with scientific and methodological literature. 3. Have basic skills in working with materials and equipment used in biological laboratories.
Course content
The course provides professional development of the student and is aimed at forming his competence in understanding the role of reactive nitrogen and oxygen in biological processes. Particular attention is paid to the laws of nitric oxide metabolism and reactive oxygen species in the cell, the role of NO and H 2 O 2 as signaling and regulatory molecules. The pathogenesis of diseases common in human populations is considered from the point of view of impaired metabolism of reactive nitrogen and oxygen and ways to correct it. The directions of selective influence on the corresponding enzymes and processes for the purpose of creation of modern pharmacological preparations are scientifically substantiated.
