Distance form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of theoretical geological and geophysical disciplines.
2. Have the skills to work with a personal computer.
Course content
The program focuses on computer processing of seismic data, technology of two-dimensional and three-dimensional seismic observations by the method of common midpoint, seismic data formats, mathematical model of seismic route, seismic data processing procedures, composition of the profile passport, analog signal sampling theory, analog signal sampling theory. digital signal, filtering, deconvolution and migration transformations. Approaches to solving direct and inverse problems of seismic fields are considered. Methods of processing which are explained on real examples on the basis of the specialized modern software are studied.
Recommended or required reading and other learning resources/tools
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, laboratory work, independent work of students
Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the modular rating system and includes: laboratory work (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve problems using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher), independent work (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve tasks without limiting tools and problem-solving techniques) and conducting 2 written modular tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written test.
