Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the courses "General Cytology", "General Histology". 2. Be able to independently apply knowledge of cytology, histology and other disciplines, perform laboratory and practical work, work with scientific and methodological literature. 3. Have basic skills in working with materials and equipment used in cytological, histological and morphometric laboratories.
Course content
Morphometric analysis is the process of obtaining quantitative and / or qualitative information from cytological, histological and macropreparation. The task of analytical and quantitative morphology is to develop and apply methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis of various structures of living organisms (cells, subcellular structures, tissues, organs, etc.) used in biological morphometric studies, as well as - patterns of changes in morphometric parameters at different morphologies -functional states of the living system under different conditions in normal and pathology. Among the methods studied are planimetric and stereometric methods, including work with computer morphometric programs, methods of three-dimensional reconstruction and confocal microscopy, image analysis, as well as features of statistical analysis of morphometric studies.
