Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of scientific-theoretical and practical material of academic disciplines taught to students of educational level "Bachelor". 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of virology, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, cytology and histology, physiology, zoology, biophysics, etc. 3. To have basic skills of analytical evaluation of research results conducted in the fields of biology and virology to solve a specific scientific and practical problem.
Course content
The subject of study of the discipline are the causes, conditions and mechanisms of formation of the neoplastic process under the influence of oncogenic viruses. The course is designed to summarize the student's understanding of the mechanisms of viral carcinogenesis, the general properties of oncoviral proteins, which allow to understand the stages of cell transformation under the influence of viruses, as well as provide insights into current trends and directions of basic scientific and applied research. The discipline is designed to form a system of abilities and skills in molecular biology of viruses, criteria for conditions and assessment of cell permissiveness for the formation of malignant growth. The acquired knowledge can be used both in research of related sciences and in interdisciplinary projects and which require knowledge of this discipline.
