Learning outcomes
As a result of training, students acquire the ability to determine the historical and cultural value of individual works of art; the ability to more deeply analyze the content and emotional content of the proposed works; the opportunity to compare different schools and directions in the history of Ukrainian and foreign art. The acquired knowledge will enrich the students' intellectual background, expand their outlook, scientific and creative potential.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the course of historical events in the territories of Western Europe, Asia and Africa; key concepts of art history; 2. Be able to identify and critically analyze scientific publications on the history of art; describe and interpret works of art; 3. Possess elementary skills of source criticism, historical analysis, establishment of cause and effect relationships.
Course content
The content of the course is divided into 2 content modules. Each content module includes lectures, seminars, independent work of students, which are completed by rating control of the level of assimilation of knowledge of the program material of the corresponding part of the course. Content module 1 (СМ1) includes topics 1-8, topics 9-13 are included in content module 2 (СМ2). Assessment of student knowledge success is carried out in two forms: semester assessment (tests, oral survey, essays) and final assessment (exam). The total number of points is 100 points (of which, the semester assessment is a maximum of 60 points; the final assessment (exam) is a maximum of 40 points).

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of the student's knowledge is carried out according to the modular rating system. The total number of student points is formed by the semester points received from all topics of two content modules (points received for modular control papers (in the form of tests); points received for completing individual tasks; points received for work in seminar classes, as well as points which are received for the final control work. The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The criteria for evaluating a student's answer are: • complete disclosure of the issue • the logic of presentation • use of basic and additional literature • analytical reasoning, the ability to draw conclusions
