Course content
"Protein structure and proteomics" is an integrated science that emerged at the intersection of biological, chemical and technical sciences. It is a discipline that combines the fundamental research with extensive use of computer technology, a wide arsenal of physico-chemical methods, such as mass spectroscopy, high-performance liquid chromatography, electrophoresis and others. The task of proteomics is to use a set of basic, applied sciences and software aimed at using a database on the structure of proteins. The main task of proteomics is to quantify the synthesis of proteins in cells depending on their type, condition or environmental impact. Proteomics performs a comparative analysis of proteins involved in the biological process, including the entire proteome. Comparison of the proteomes of healthy and sick patients allows us to identify proteins that are involved in the development of the disease and which in the future may become targets for new drugs.
