Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses "Hydrology of continents", "Dangerous hydrological phenomena". To know the theoretical foundations of general hydrology, land hydrology, oceanology. Possess elementary skills of hydrological and water balance calculations, statistical processing of hydrological series. To have methods of synthesis and analysis of information.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is for students to gain a systematic understanding of the natural and anthropogenic causes of modern global changes in the natural environment, the main factor of which is climate warming, to clarify their dynamics, impact on the natural environment, and to study ways of possible prevention of the consequences of their development in the future. A master hydrologist must have a good understanding of the causes of modern climate changes, the mechanism of their impact on the water environment, and predict the possible consequences of such an impact. The educational discipline is devoted to the study of the theoretical and methodological foundations of patterns and causes of modern climatic changes; the mechanism of the influence of climatic changes on the aquatic environment; analysis of changes in the main elements of the hydrological regime, which occur under the influence of climatic changes; obtaining ideas about possible trends of further changes in water resources under the influence of climate change. The educational discipline "Global climate changes and their impact on the hydrosphere" is a component of the comprehensive training of specialists of the educational and qualification level "master" of the educational program "Hydrology and integrated management of water resources" specialty 103 "Earth sciences".

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminar classes, independent work, defense of a self-made presentation, modular control work, assessment
Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, after the completion of the relevant topics, thematic written control papers with open questions are conducted. Mandatory for credit is the writing of test papers for content modules, participation in seminars, and preparation of a presentation. For students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 36 points, writing essays on insufficiently mastered topics is a mandatory condition for admission to the credit. The maximum number of points for credit is 40 points, the minimum number of points added to semester credits is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for credit). Students who, during the semester, scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 20 points are not allowed to pass the test. The recommended minimum for admission to the test is 36 points.
