Learning outcomes
PRN2. Confidently possess the state and foreign (Belarusian, English, Czech/Croatian) languages ​​for the implementation of written and oral communication, in particular in situations of professional and scientific communication; present research results in national and foreign languages. PRN6. Apply knowledge of expressive, emotional, logical means of the Belarusian, Ukrainian, English languages ​​and speech technique to achieve the planned pragmatic result and organize successful communication. PRN7. To analyze, compare and classify different trends and schools in Slavic (Belarusian), Ukrainian and English linguistics. Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must successfully master the theoretical and practical courses in English, which were provided by the program for 1-4 years of study of the OKR "Bachelor". - know: basic linguistic concepts; principles of language material analysis; peculiarities of semantics, structure and functioning of units of all levels of the English language; - be able to: apply linguistic tools in practice; to have basic skills of selection, analysis and interpretation of speech facts; communication on linguistic topics.
Course content

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, practical classes, independent work, exam
Assessment methods and criteria
1st semester: Oral answer, participation in discussions at lectures and practical classes, blitz-examination, tests: 25/45 points. Presentation: 11/15 points. (10 points for preparation + 5 points for defense). The final grade for the discipline (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) consists of the sum of the number of points for the semester work (minimum 36, maximum 60 points) and the final assessment - the exam (minimum 24, maximum 40 points). 2nd semester: Oral answer, participation in discussions at practical classes, blitz-examination, tests: 36/60 points. Presentation: 12/20 points. (10 points for preparation + 10 points for defense). The final grade for the discipline (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) consists of the sum of the number of points for the semester's work (minimum 47, maximum 80 points) and the final assessment - credit (minimum 13, maximum 20 points).
