Learning outcomes
Apply their knowledge to identify and solve problems and make informed decisions in meteorology (PLO02). Be able to communicate with specialists and experts of different levels from other fields of knowledge, including in the international context, in the global information environment (PLO3). Develop and implement mechanisms of territorial management, geoplanning, monitor regional development, develop plans and programs taking into account meteorological and climatic information (WP09). Demonstrate the ability to adapt and act in a new situation related to the work in the specialty, ability to generate new ideas in the field of Earth sciences (PLO10).

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the courses "Meteorology", "Climatology", "Synoptic meteorology", "Economic theory". 2. Knowledge of theoretical foundations of the course of atmospheric processes and phenomena, the basics of economic theory. Knowledge of methods of synthesis and analysis of information.
Course content
The discipline "Economic Meteorology" is part of the educational and professional program of training specialists in the educational qualification level of Master of Science: 10-natural sciences, specialty: 103 - Earth sciences, under the educational program - meteorology. The course deals with the theoretical and methodological foundations of the study of meteorological services and features of the development of meteorological support in the structure of the modern economy; highlights the issues of efficiency of consumption of meteorological services, in particular - approaches to assessing the success of meteorological forecasts, the principles of choosing the best weather and economic solutions and methods of optimizing the use of meteorological forecasts. The course pays considerable attention to the extremely relevant today relatively new areas of economic meteorology - marketing and advertising of meteorological services, as well as the economics of climate change. In particular, the features of climate change impact on global economic processes and society and the main patterns of climate change impact on economic sectors are revealed. Structurally, the course consists of two content modules.
