Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To demonstrate an adequate level of mastery of foreign language to perform written and spoken communication, namely in the situations of professional and academic communication; to present the results of their studies in this foreign language.
PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques, principles of intercultural management in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize successful communication.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Mastery of courses in phonetics, grammar, lexicology, and stylistics of the German and Ukrainian languages. Acquisition of skills in analyzing and interpreting literary works, taking into account the characteristics of time and era.
Course content
The course covers microstylistics as the comparative study of the stylistic possibilities of language at all levels, and macrostylistics as the study of the comprehensive use of language means in functional styles, as well as the complex linguostylistic interpretation of literary texts. The goal of the course is to contribute to a scientific understanding of the theoretical foundations of modern comparative stylistics, teach students to identify the peculiarities of the functioning of the German and Ukrainian languages in different functional styles and speech situations, develop the ability to consciously choose language-stylistic means for effective communication in accordance with the norms of the German or Ukrainian language community, and cultivate the skills to interpret literary texts based on their stylistic analysis and critically analyze translations of literary texts. Furthermore, the course aims to enhance students' abilities and skills in the effective use of language means in various domains and registers of language communication, both in oral and written translation. The course concludes with a credit.

During the semester, the educational activities include lectures, seminars, assignments that are completed through independent work, module tests, presentations, and reports.

Semester evaluation:
Presentations or reports during seminar sessions - maximum 20, minimum 12 points.
Responses/engagement during lectures or seminar sessions - maximum 40, minimum 24 points.
Module tests - maximum 20, minimum 12 points.
Final exam - maximum 20, minimum 12 points.
Maximum total points for the semester - 100 points.
Minimum passing grade for the ongoing assessment - 60 points.
