Learning outcomes
PR07. Demonstrate knowledge of the structural organization of biological systems at the molecular level of the organization. PR08. Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental biological processes, structure and functions of living organisms. PR12. Demonstrate knowledge of the structure and functions of the immune system, cellular and molecular mechanisms of immune responses, their regulation, genetic control; types of immunity and methods of assessing the immune status of the organism. PR21.4. Apply immunological, physicochemical and immunochemical methods to study biological phenomena and processes. PR22.4. Solve fundamental and applied problems in the field of immunology
Form of study

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of scientific-theoretical and practical material of academic disciplines taught to students of educational level "Bachelor": "Immunology", "General Cytology", "Histology", "Biochemistry", "Physiology and Anatomy of Man and Animals", etc. 2. Ability to independently apply knowledge of the basics of physiology, cytology, general immunology and biophysics and other disciplines to solve specific scientific and practical problems; work with scientific and scientific-methodical literature. 3. Possession of basic skills of systems analysis.
Course content
The course covers issues of innate immunity, evolutionary aspects of the formation of the system of protection against pathogens in different species of animals and humans, specificity of recognition at different levels of the immune system, multifactorial and multilevel immune system, formation of effector mechanisms of inflammation, humoral roles: cytokines, system complement, proteins of the acute phase of inflammation, endogenous antimicrobial peptides, the system of interferons - and cellular: myeloid and lymphoid cells of the body's immune system in the implementation of the mechanisms of natural immunity. The study of the effector mechanisms of innate immunity as the basis of general immunobiology is relevant for further study of the mechanisms of adaptive immunity and the student's understanding of the relationships between different parts of the immune system.
