Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students should know the theoretical foundations and concepts of geoinformatics, geoinformation systems, and the basics of programming. Know the approaches and ways of searching for information on the Internet. To be able to work in modern software used on the Internet for interactive mapping and presentation of cartographic works.
Course content
Studying the theory of spatial data infrastructure and acquiring practical skills in the technology of using digital geoinformation resources based on computer networks and mobile devices for information processing and presentation (visualization) of spatio-temporal information.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The discipline consists of two content modules. In the first, the general issues of demand for GIS in the service market and modern vectors of development of GIS technologies are considered. The classification of GIS is given, the essence and differences of server and mobile GIS are outlined. The second module reveals the peculiarities of information processing and the possibilities of visualization of spatio-temporal information in mobile and server GIS. Features of the architecture and priorities of mobile and server GIS are considered.
Assessment methods and criteria
The level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of practical, independent, modular control tasks and assessment. The specific weight of learning results in the final assessment, provided that it is mastered at the appropriate level, is as follows: - semester assessment: 1. Modular control work 1: 10 points. 2. Modular control work 2: 10 points. 3. Practical works: 30 points. 4. Independent work: 10 points. Final evaluation: in the form of an exam. The final grade from the educational component, the final form of control for which credit is established, is defined as the sum of grades (points) for all successfully assessed learning outcomes of 60 points and credit of 40 points. Scores below the minimum threshold level are not added to the final score. Mandatory for receiving a positive final grade (60 points and above and "passed") is the completion of all practical work and modular control work.
