PLO 2. To demonstrate a confident level of the state and foreign (English) languages mastery to perform written and spoken communication, namely in the situations of professional and scientific communication; to present the results of their studies in the the state and foreign languages. PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize a successful communication. PLO 13, 14, 16. Ukrainian language proficiency at a level that allows communication in all areas of activity (B2).

The course covers the lexical, grammatical and stylistic systems of the modern Ukrainian language; linguistic and speech means specific to different styles of speech and the description of these means in an applied aspect. The course is structured into 2 modules. The first module deepens and systematizes students' knowledge of the peculiarities of stylistic varieties of the Ukrainian language, the functioning of all parts of speech and compounds of different types in different-style texts, the basic rules of speech behavior in typical communication situations; the second module improves skills and abilities to communicate in Ukrainian in various fields using linguistic and speech means of all styles.

Forms of study: practical classes, independent work. Teaching methods: explanation of new material, conversation, review of a classmate's answer, analysis of teaching materials, interactive methods (work in pairs, small groups), problem-based learning, exercises, analysis of text fragments, selection of materials in the student's native language for a detailed answer in Ukrainian.

An oral response, analysis of texts of different styles, a module test and analysis of its results, and an exam. For the assessment criteria for each type of task, see the work programs of the disciplines.
