Learning outcomes
The student must know: Methods of creating modern computer systems, technologies for safe storage of large data sets, patterns of organization of user interaction with computer systems. The regularities of the development of the fundamental principles of designing hardware complexes for storage, transmission and display of data, the creation of human-computer interaction systems. Methods of creating promising external devices based on the use of the latest technologies and materials. Data display technologies using the latest tools

The discipline "External devices of the modern computer systems" is based on the cycle of disciplines of professional and practical bachelor's and master's training, in particular, "Discrete mathematics", "Algorithm theory", "Functional electronics", "Computer systems", "Computer architecture systems", "Parallel programming", "Software engineering".
Course content
Principles of organization of modern data storage systems. Big Data. Modern technologies of magnetic and optical recording. Granular magnetic recording technology. Technologies of combined magnetic and optical recording (HAMR technology). Technologies for manufacturing solid-state memory. Ways to solve the problem of long-term data storage. Technologies for improving the characteristics of flash memory. Ferroelectric memory. Resistive memory. Memory based on phase transitions. The principle of building promising data storage systems. DNA memory Modern information display technologies: monitors, projectors. Systems for creating 3D images. Technologies for building 3D printers. Technologies of voice and speech recognition. Promising technologies of Human-Computer Interaction.

Assessment methods and criteria
- semester assessment: control is carried out as follows. The semester has two semantic modules: the content module 1 (MR1) includes topics 1-4, the content module 2 (MR2) includes topics 5-9. - final assessment (in the form of credit): credit form - written and oral. The test consists of 2 questions, each question is evaluated from 0 to 14 points. In total, you can get from 0 to 40 points for the test. The condition for achieving a positive grade for the discipline is to obtain at least 60 points, with a score of 2 [skills] and 4 [autonomy and responsibility] can not be less than 50% of the maximum level (15 and 5 points, respectively), grade for the test can not be less than 24 points. - conditions of admission to the test: the condition of admission to the test is the student's receipt of a total of not less than the critical-calculated minimum of 36 points per semester.
