Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of scientific-theoretical and practical material of educational disciplines taught to students of educational level "Bachelor", in particular "Physics", "Chemistry", "Bioorganic Chemistry", "Biophysics", "Biochemistry", "Molecular Biology".
2. Be able to independently apply knowledge of biophysics, biochemistry, molecular biology and other disciplines, work with scientific and methodological literature.
3. Have the skills to work with computers, materials and equipment used in biological laboratories.
Course content
During the study of the course much attention is paid to modern ideas about the molecular structure, physicochemical properties and functioning of biological macromolecules of various natures. The main sections of the course are devoted to the general structural organization of biological macromolecules and their physicochemical properties, mechanisms of intermolecular interactions, conformational transitions, organization and functioning of supramolecular complexes, molecular mechanisms of cell signaling, and principles of research methods in molecular biophysics. In the future, the acquired knowledge and skills in the field of "Molecular Biophysics" can be used both in research in the field of biophysics and in interdisciplinary research.
